5 months old today!

Would you believe how big our boy is getting? I took him to the doctor the other day and he is 20lbs 5oz!!!! 27 inches long... I asked the doctor if they were concerned about how big he is and she said no... that he is in proportion to his length and perfectly healthy. He is just a BIG boy! He had a great first Christmas... I will post pics soon. He is now giggling... Daddy seems to be the only one who can make him laugh. His favorite person is his big sister, Stacie... he just watches her with a big smile on his face whenever she is in the room. He has also learned to growl - it cracks us all up. He's our little lion! He is a happy, happy boy and we are so enjoying him.

Here is the monthly shot - he really posed for it this time!
Stacie took this pic - he loves his big sis!
Just realized he could use his johnny jump! Only goes to 24lbs max! I hope he figures it out soon... so far he just likes to "hang" out in it.
We love our little Santeo!
Cute sleeping pic. He's holding onto his lovey... a horse we call "Tornado" since that's Zorro's horses name.
So anyone up for giving me some advice? My only area of concern is sleeping. Mateo is not a good napper... I can only get 1.5 to 2 hours per day unless we hold him for his naps. Then he knocks out by 7pm...still not sleeping through the night. I'm currently reading the "no cry sleep solution" to help him sleep better. We typically hold him until he is in a deep sleep and then put him in his bed - but I am told that that's not the right thing to do. He needs to learn to "soothe" himself to sleep. So I should put him to bed in a drowsy but not asleep state. We tried this yesterday. First morning nap - he cried for only 2 minutes and then fell asleep - woohoo! but it didn't continue that well... we tried to do it and he would immediately start crying *hard* We would pick him back up, rock him until he started closing his eyes, and put him in his bed. He would start crying hard right away. Didn't work at all the rest of the day. So did I mess things up by rocking him to sleep? or is he just still too young to "soothe" himself to sleep? I'm hoping for the latter... please share your sleep advice with me!
