Mateo's Homecoming

Mateo is finally HOME!!! I was so excited I spent 5 hours at the NICU just waiting for the doctor to bring the discharge papers. They let me take off his heart and respiratory monitors... he was crying - how incredible it was to be able to comfort him by walking around the room - free of wires and tubes. I told him "You're a FREE MAN, Mateo!!!" :) We got to dress him up all cute in our own clothes and put him in his fancy new stroller. It's so great to have him here. He has settled right in - he's been sleeping for hours and so far is on the same schedule he was on in the NICU - feeding every 4 hours and sleeping in between. He's such a little angel baby. The doctor held him up this morning - like Simba on the Lion King and said "You are SUCH a cute baby! I'm so lucky to have such cute patients instead of all the old guys at the ER." It was sweet :)

Mateo - all bundled up and ready for the walk home. First time outside!

We're HOME!
