Ruptured Appendix!

Poor Zack is not having a good 2008 so far. Broken computer...broken cell phone...bicycle accident in January, and last week he came down with the flu and was throwing up for 3 days. He started to feel better on Wednesday. Raf took him to the doctor and gave him a prescription for nausea medication. He was feeling better, but on Thursday started to complain of both stomach and back pain... it got bad enough on Saturday that his Mom took him to the ER to have a cat scan. Turned out he had a ruptured appendix! He went in for Emergency Surgery Saturday afternoon to clean out the infection. The surgery went very well and it looks like he will be able to come home tomorrow. Rafael has been awesome, and spent the last 2 nights in Zack's hospital room to help out. The nurse asked if Rafael wants a job with the hospital :) He is a great Dad - makes me that much more excited to be having a baby with him.

We will be praying for Zack's quick recovery... he will be off work for the next 4 weeks. he's not to do any heavy lifting. Hopefully he can head back to school soon and finish out his first year of college.

Let's hope the rest of the year looks up for him!
